About Michael Try
My first real musical influence came during high school where I really became enthralled with the music of Prince. My friends & I used to throw ice on the basement floor of my parents house, so we could slide around and dance to Prince, Jesse Johnson, Grand Master Flash, Midnight Star & Madonna.
After completing high school, I attended college and received a B.S. in Communications. During my college years, I played football, and transitioned into Marine Officer training. I served almost 5 years in the corps as an Infantry Officer with service in Desert Storm.
My next big musical influence in life came a number of years later from BT. His music connected with me through its' lyrics and power! If you've never listened to "Emotional Technology", buy it today!! It was as if BT was speaking directly to my experience of loss of trust, security & hope. BT's music was a healing experience for me, and was an introduction to the endless world of electronic music.
Having had a musical background from high school, where I played the trumpet, I ventured into the world of creating music. I've had an extensive career playing the trumpet in my younger days & have recently learned to play the piano. At this phase in my life, I'm finally able to create music that hits on my nerves and emotions, rather than just listening to it! Of course, I do it for fun and that's the best part!
